The Knights of Peter Claver Council is a council of the Knights of Peter Claver, Inc., the largest historically African-American Catholic lay organization in the United States. Its purpose is to render service to God and His Holy Church, render aid and assistance to the sick and disabled, and promote social and intellectual association among our members.
The Knights of Peter Claver, Inc. Order is named for St. Peter Claver, the Spanish Priest who ministered to African slaves. Although it was founded in Mobile, Alabama, its headquarters are located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The organization consists of six divisions: Knights of Peter Claver, Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Junior Knights, Junior Daughters, 4th Degree Knights, and Ladies of Grace. It is governed by a Board of Directors and is under the leadership of the Supreme Knight and Supreme Lady, KPCLA.
KPC Jr. Knights #11
The KPC Jr. Knights were authorized on January 14, 1917, and were established by the Division of Order effective October 1, 1935. It is a way to offer opportunities for our Catholic youth in the areas of spiritual, social, educational, physical, civil, and cultural growth. The organization's constitution which strives to build good character and leadership qualities in our youth was complied by Josephite Father Joseph Van Beast. They meet monthly and are involved in many of the church ministries as well as community service projects.

Membership is open to boys age 7 to 19 who have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and Holy Communion.
