The Sacrament of Reconciliation is the sacrament by which we receive God's healing forgiveness for sins committed after baptism. The rite is called reconciliation because it reconciles us not only with God but with the church community. Both these aspects of reconciliation are important.

First Reconciliation Preparation
The preparation for First Reconciliation is an opportunity for our children to experience the forgiveness of God through this sacrament by understanding the concepts of right and wrong, and how sin and forgiveness are understood in light of God's love and mercy.
The children are prepared for receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of Holy Communion at the same time. For the Sacrament of Reconciliation, they are helped to reflect on sin, forgiveness, mercy and by learning how to approach and participate in the sacrament.
The recommended age to receive this sacrament the first time is second grade.
